Microdermabrasion is a
cosmetic procedure used to remove the stratum corneum (outermost
surface of the skin) by means of light abrasion. Microdermabrasion can
remove sun-damaged skin, lessen or remove the appearance of dark spots,
diminish the look of facial wrinkles, improve aging skin and
effectively treat stretch marks and scars left from moderate to severe
acne. The procedure is not painful and requires no anesthesia.
Microdermabrasion can be used medically for scar removal when the scar
is raised above the surrounding skin.

Bottles
The
Plastic Mixing Bottles contain medical-grade, Gamma-Ray sterilized,
corundum powder, one of the most abrasive minerals in the world. The
corundum powder is an inert, biocompatible compound that is gamma-ray
sterlized for the highest level of purity and quality. All bottles are
pre-filled.

During an Ultrapeel
microdermabrasion treatment, a fine flow of crystals is projected
towards the skin. By a simple transfer of kinetic energy, the crystals
are able to remove the cells of the top layer of the skin. The corundum
powder, along with the debraded skin, is then collected and vacuumed
into the disposable, plastic collecting bottle.

The corundum powder is directed
to the skins surface through a sealed tubing system. This system was
designed as a closed-loop, vacuum circuit allowing crystals to flow in
only one direction and then to be collected into a sealed, disposable
bottle.

Tip
The new
Crystal-Free Tip from Mattioli Engineering provides an abrasive
exfoliation as an alternative to our medical grade, pre-sterilized,
gamma-ray corundum powder. The new crystal-free tip has a diamond hard
surface integrated at the opening of the tip which comes in direct
contact with the skin's surface. The crystal-free tip is fully
compatible with the existing tubing kit and tip holder. It has been
pre-sterilized for a safe and effective treatment.
